Health disparities are large differences in the status of the health of someone's community or healthcare access that are preventable and can be avoided by preventative care and attention. Community health differences often lead to worse health outcomes, which include lower lifespan, higher disease burden, and often generational effects. These disparities can be eliminated by those who study public health. The causes of healthcare disparities are to the left, in the diagram.
